Growth Story
The Hambella washing station is located at the top of the highest mountain peak in Guji. It is a central point for most coffee farmers in the area, serving around 3,900 producers. Grown at high-altitude, reflecting the unique terroir of the highlands, this natural-processed coffee showcases the bold and vibrant characteristics that make Ethiopian coffees so sought after. The combination of rich volcanic soil, ideal climate conditions, and traditional farming methods results in a cup bursting with fruit-forward complexity. The station meticulously sorts and processes the coffee, drying on raised beds under careful supervision. Workers regularly turn the cherries to ensure uniform drying and cover the beds during peak sunlight hours to prevent overexposure.
